Best hikers

Keen Durand are the best wide width hiking boots I've ever worn. Comfort and durability are both excellent.

Great "WIDE" Hiking Boot
I have a very wide foot and have tried all brands of boots in order to get a boot that comfortably accomadates my feet on long (15-20 mile) day outings with significant elevation gains (3-4,000 feet) with a full trail woork pack. This boot does that for me. Without any real break-in I put these on and did a 12. 5 mile/2,500 foot hike with 25 lbs of pack. At the end of the day after clearing trail of downed trees my feet were tired but not sore. I had no blisters or even hot spots due to the effort. I have tried Keen Targhee's in the past but found them too lite and w/o adequate arch and shank support for my needs. I am 6'-1" and go +200#'s with a pack. These boots made the difference for me.

Not as good

This is my 6th pair of these boots. The quality difference and fit of boots made in Kentucky verses Oregon is very apparent. Currently not worth the money. I will be trying different brands.

Excellent Boot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great boot. Second pair that I have bought. Only complaint is the sole should provide more cushioning. Using aftermarket insoles, I can hike for miles.

Great all around boot

Have had a wide-sized pair of these for years. Can't remember exactly but definitely over 5 years, maybe up to 7. Mostly I wear them for outdoor activity with a light pack and a lot of movement patterns upright, kneeling, and some crawling. Also, wear them for some hobbyist shop work on concrete.
With some other boots I've had the sole would have separated from the upper by now, but the Keens are completely intact not even one spot showing weakness. The tread is still deep and works very well in the rough stuff. The leather tops are still in excellent condition. The boots are comfortable, the heel squishes the right amount for high impacts (running) and the sole is thick enough to be very protective in very rough rocks. I have a fairly wide foot, sometimes too wide for 'wide' shoes. The wide-sized Durand works very well for me, good room for foot to splay out in the toe box. I am going to say 'runs wide' on fit because these are conventionally sized boots, which for me is a good thing.
Only one slight issue for me, in the last 6 months (after years of hard use), some riveted eyelets have popped off down around my first toe knuckles. Since I'm not worried about looks JB weld fixes this issue, and the boots are back to 100% functionality.
My family has had many pairs of Keen shoes and so far the brand has been very trustworthy

Best boots I’ve owned!
Best pair of hiking boots I’ve owned. They took about a month to fully break in and now they’re perfect. I’ve put well over 1,000 miles on these in the alps of Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Norway, Washington, and Colorado and they’re in top shape. Couldn’t ask for more!

Get them and enjoy the clouds

Would give 5 if the eyelets didn't snap off when they brushed up against a ladder.
The most comfortable boots I've ever owned, will not wear anything else 18+ hours a day in these things and I can keep going.
Please make the eyelets the same at the Dover boots and it will be 5 star everyday
