Keen Targhee IV Waterproof Hiking Boot - Women's

When I shop for shoes I usually need to try on a dozen pair before I find one that work for my poor arthritic feet. Guess what ?? These boots are everything. I feel very secure wearing these and my feet don't get sore or tired. I am motivated to get out there and enjoy hiking. Of course I wear them around town, too. Thank you for creating these. Next time can you consider swapping out the pink trim for an aquamarine color ??? I like the pink but blue would be oh so awesome. Thx

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My only concern is they do not Crack and come apart on the sides near the toes, like my last pair of KEEN boots. My job consists of being outside every day, even in winter time & 100° summer heat. I do anything from gardening, raking leaves, clearing fence lines & trimming trees. Boots do get wet rain or snow.

I am a devoted Targhee II Hiking boot, size 8. 5, customer. Targhee III never fit well. When it was time to replace my worn out Targhee IIs, I tried the Targhee IV in Brindle color. I ordered size 8. 5, but they were too big and boxy, definitely not the fabulous Keen fit. I returned those and reordered size 8, but couldn't get past the boxy, heel slip fit and returned those also. Not wanting to give up on Keen, I reordered Targhee IV in the Bison color, size 8. They were the classic Keen fit but too small and returned those. Now I reordered the Bison color in size 8. 5 and am happily back to the fit and size of the Targhee II.

They fit well. I like the wide toe box, and the way the laces slide so you can adjust the snugness easily. I'm not giving it that last star because I find they make my feet feel kind of hot. Maybe because the uppers are made of recycled plastic, as the tag proclaims? Also lacking the final star because they are not as comfortable as the Keen Pyrenees, which fit my feet perfectly, breathe well, and are made of leather. Those are the boots that truly love my feet! But I bought the Targhee instead because they are advertised as having a new bonding technology so that the soles will not delaminate. After having two pairs of "perfect comfort" Pyrenees delaminate and fall apart in seven months and two months respectively, I gave up on them and got the Targhee instead. Here is my ideal scenario: Make the Pyrenees with the special technology that allows the sole not to fall apart within months after purchase. I will buy those boots immediately!

These boots have a lot of volume. The length was correct, but I had a lot of room on the sides of feet and on top of the boot. I had to put 2 pairs of socks on to fill them out. I do have fairly low volume feet, but typically due not have to wear extra socks. I sent them back because I don't want to need to adjust to fit a shoe or boot ever. They were comfortable otherwise. Not the greatest color and they did look large on the feet.

Purchased to replace a similar Keen boot that offers perfect foot and ankle protection on our hilly property with terraced gardens and rock paths. They are very comfortable to wear and my original pairs lasted years, good quality and value.
