I bought these boots specifically for a photography trip to Yellowstone knowing I would face variable weather conditions, potentially including wintry weather, and would want to be able to move around easily. We did in fact have three days of snow and every day started well below freezing. These boots were everything I had hoped for and more. My feet stayed warm and dry and they were super comfortable, so that meant I could focus on what I was seeing and enjoy my experience to the maximum. 10/10 highly recommended.

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is the heel of the sole extends behind the back of the shoe tripping me when I'm going downhill.

My daughter wears Merrell boots and bought me a pair for Christmas. These are the nicest boots I have ever had! I wear a size 8.5 so she bought me a 9 and the fit is perfect. There is no breaking in period; put them on and go. We had a lot of snow so far this year but my feet have stayed warm, dry, and comfortable. If you’re looking for a wonderful boot, buy a pair of these.

Perfect fit if you size up a whole size. If you don’t size up, minimally thin socks will be required.

Mid-teens Kiana replacement success!

When my beloved Kiana's soles came unglued after a decade of use including the coldest and snowiest winters on record, I dug out the specs and went hunting for an equivalent pair. As it has been a very snowy winter I have had time to break them in and am quite happy. They are everything the Kiana's were, plus an easy in/out zipper and considerably lighter while remaining stable and toasty warm. Excellent traction and work well with my snowshoes, too. My only regret is that I didn't size up half a size as they are a smidge more snug than the Kianas were and I would prefer to use chunkier socks, but that isn't a deal breaker.
