Great hiking shoes!

My old hiking boots wore out on a recent trip so I purchased the Moab 3. This shoe is so comfortable with padding in all the right places. I purchased this shoe and the higher top version Moab 3, and decided to keep the high top version. I could have easily gone with these but opted for more ankle support. I sized up a half size to allow for thicker hiking socks.

Feet still wet with Gore Tex model

I like the shoes. Toe box is comfortable. I ordered a half size larger than usual.
The only complaint is that they are the Gore Tex model and my feet got somewhat wet while walking my dog during a rainstorm. Merrell also offers a waterproof version but it’s not what I have.

Gore-Tex Waterproofing Doesn't Last

I have owned several pairs of these shoes. They are very comfortable but their consistent flaw is that the Gore-Tex waterproofing last for only about a month of regular use. I have found that the basic waterproofing in the Moab 3 Waterproof shoes lasts a little longer (although still not very long).

These are for my wife, as she finds "men's" shoes more durable. These shoes are comfortable, give good support and WATER PROOF! My wife loves the pair of non-water proof Marrells, however, those are beginning to wear. So, she needed a pair that are water-proof: Wha-La! She finds the water-proof shoes to be warmer, as we are experiencing a cooler winter here in North Carolina.
