nice value boot, not really olive green in color
3 months ago
I wear a lot of olive green in my wardrobe in general and a fair amount of black pants for work and casually. I like to wear slightly more colorful shoes than the usual brown or black leather. I was looking for a green-tone boot and found these. The shearling inside is cozy, but not so thick that I think they will be too warm for our mild-ish Pacific Northwest winter. I love that the zippers on both sides are functional. I will probably use both for a while during the break-in period, then just the inside zipper once they have stretched and settled a bit. I typically wear a size 10.5-11 and either standard or wide width. In size EU 42/ US 10.5-11, these are just barely wide enough in my forefoot and good in the length. I also have a high arch and instep and this boot fits well in that dimension too. I expect the shearling inside with smush and they will fit great with 1-2 wears. So many boots in this price range look so cheap with just one color of foam soles, too much white, and no nice stitching. The textured rubber sole, midsole, topstitch combo on these keep them looking like a real boot that might last a couple of years (yet to be seen). My only complaint (and thus -1 star for this review) is that I would not call these olive green or really green at all, they are more like a warm worn charcoal grey color. Since I have been needing a casual black range boot and really like a burnished look, I will keep them and I think they will work well, just do not expect green.
