Comfortable but big gap in heel

These have a wider toe area, feel cushy but not squishy which I really value seem breathable . My only concern is on trails there is such a big gap around the heel ankle area that I feel is just gonna fill with dirt gravel and other things on trail most likely. If I wore a gaiters maybe it would work but idk.

I've done two longer runs in these so far. First was a 9 mile work out mostly on paved and gravel paths and the second was a 16 mi wet and muddy trail run with 2k elevation gain. I like the look, traction, and cushion - the shoes feel springy and I was confident on various mud, sand, and rock. However, the fit leaves a bit to be desired. I was hoping for a more secure midfoot lock, like Altras. I found myself slipping a bit in the shoes, especially on steep terrain and especially after they got wet and the upper loosened up. I found the to be toe box is wider than average, but I wish there was more width in the big toe area to spread. I had no issue with the heel as others have reported, but I did find that they run HOT. I found these to be true to size, if not slightly big. I wear a 9. 5D in Hoka and a 10B in Altra. I have a size 10 in these, and have about a half inch of room in the toe. It's possible that some of my fit issues could be improved by sizing down, but I don't want to risk jamming my toes into the front of the shoe on descents. Ultimately, I found that these fit my foot like other keen shoes, but I was hoping for a more technical and secure fit in the upper. I will be keeping them in my rotation - I think they might really shine in the winter on moderate trails and even technical trails without a ton of elevation.

I got a pair a few months ago and have put about 200 miles of walking/hiking/running on them since. I've tried a number of other shoes but haven't really found my "Goldilocks" pair until these! They're so comfortable and have genuinely exceeded my expectations. I use them for long runs, tempo runs, hill sprints, and even reach for them when going on walks just because they're so comfy. I'd love to see a version with a little more weather-resistance as your feet will get soaked in wet conditions. For reference, my feet measure about 4" across flat at the widest point and these fit comfortably for me in my usual size (6. 5).

I’ve been searching high and low for a flexible, all terrain shoe for my active senior lifestyle. My biggest annoyance is how tiny rocks get into my shoe causing me to stop to empty my shoe often during my adventure. This shoe is my dreams come true. It is designed with this in mind. I love this shoe so much I ordered a second pair to keep at my cabin.

I like the shoes fine, but. . . there is a piece of material sewn around the heel in a rectangular shape. this leaves a tiny piece of loose fabric at the point and it rubs and created a little blister. I fixed the problem with tape, but curving the heel fabric would eliminate the problem

Needs a bigger toe box- arch collapses into side of shoe. . heavier than I like For faster runs. But they feel very durable. Gonna take it on more test run before deciding!

I had been looking at these shoes for a few months and debating whether I wanted to try them. The description sounded pretty much perfect for what I was looking for but since they were a new item I wasn't sure I wanted to take the risk. I ended up buying a pair and absolutely love them for trail running! The wide toe box is incredible. This is the first pair of running shoes where I don't have toes rubbing! At first I thought the toe box might be too big but it is perfect for running. The shoe is very breathable for a trail shoe and the traction seems great (haven't tested it out yet on a truly technical trail). I had a hard time choosing a colorway but ended up with the Lily Pad/Abbey Stone, which is nice and neutral. The only thing that I maybe don't love is the sewn in tongue. I agree with a previous review that it does make it difficult to get your foot in the shoe, especially if you have custom insoles in. I do think the all in one liner/tongue will end up losing it's shape eventually. Hopefully by then it will be time to buy a new pair. All said, the Seek feels like a solid trail runner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always loved Keen shoes in the past and have two pairs of women's Targhees. Although I am not a trail runner, I bought these shoes for walking. I had already tried a pair of WK 500's and the Zionics. Both shoes were not big enough, especially in the toe area. I really don't like Keens shoes that have the contoured toe, so I bought the Seeks because it has the original toe box. I wear a size 11 medium, but these seem a bit narrow. There is no 11-1/2, so if I go up to 12, I would probably have a shoe that's too big. I don't like the sewed in tongue, as it makes it hard to get my foot in the shoe. Since putting in a pair of ProStep inserts, I developed a huge blister on my left heel. I have the prostep inserts in all my shoes, including my Targheees and have never had a problem. Having worn them outside, I emailed Keene to see if I could exchange them for something else and never got a reply.
