Not As Good As They Used to Be

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Kids Newport Sandal used to be the go-to sandal I bought for my child every summer for years because they looked good and were perfect for summer activities like going to camp, amusement parks, outdoor walks, or even the pool or beach. Basically they were great for everyday wear and were easy to wash. I used to recommend them to everyone I knew for this reason.
Well, things have drastically changed.
The quality of the Kids Newport Sandal has really gone down over the past year or so.
Last summer, the sandal wore down quickly, in particular the heel and the fraying fabric.
This year I decided to try again since it could have just been that particular style/color. I bought a pair for my child for the summer, and they ran a bit smaller than usual. No biggie. I simply returned them and got a bigger size. However, less than a month in, the stretchy pull strap broke.
I reached out to customer service, and they just recommended I buy laces and sent me a link to one pair on their site, as well as two pairs from Amazon.
These laces are for common sneakers or boots that you thread through. So, their suggestion isn’t very helpful.
Needless to say, unfortunately, this is the last year I’m buying these sandals or any other child’s shoe from Keen. They just aren’t worth the expensive cost anymore. I will be looking into other durable, quality sandals from other brands.

Bought for Scout camping trip. Very comfy and fit tight enough they didn't get sucked off in river muck.

My very tall 2 year old loves these new neon green/black sandals In size 12. They are a great value (>$50), are made of high quality materials and are very comfortable. They will get a lot of use in our beachy San Diego community. Thank you!
