Chaco ZX2 Classic Sandal

Super super disappointed in these shoes. My first pair of Chacos I got in 2016 and they were the best sandal I ever bought and I wore them 24/7. When I mistakenly broke them last year, I had a feeling the company wasn't what it was before and unfortunately I was correct. Way less comfortable than my last pair and I could just tell the material was different. And worse. The straps are much thinner and the shoe itself is a lot stiffer. I have had the shoes a little over 4 months and already the straps are fraying, and when inspecting them closer I noticed the sandal is already tearing around where the straps go into the shoe!! And I know that its because I am constantly having to readjust the straps because they always end up too tight!! I don't wear them as much as I did my old pair, mainly because of the problems above, so overuse would not cause these issues. NEVER had this problem with my old pair, and I will NEVER buy another one again.

I am a size 8 and these fit true to size. I have narrow feet and the straps are a bit long so I put a stitch in them to keep them from dragging on the ground. They are so cute and comfortable and work well for my medium/high arches.

The straps move around while wearing them, so i keep having to adjusting because it gets too tight around the big toe. The texture on the foot sole makes my feet sore and tender after wearing them all day. And your feet smell after wearing them. All of it was surprising and disappointing really. I wanted to LOVE these.

Disclaimer: I just received my pair so haven’t worn them in or taken them for a spin But initial impression is I LOVE THEM! They’re super cute, I was concerned at first at the fit of the straps but with the help of the sizing diagram I was able to adjust the straps and they fit perfectly now. It truly hugs the foot in all the right places. The arch in them I’m a little worried about, it initially feels supportive but after walking around the house I feel a twinge of soreness from almost a forced arch as I tend to be a little more flat footed. I’m sure they’ll break in with time though. May come back later to update but overall I like them and have high hopes !

I am very much enjoying these sandals (my 1st pair of Chaco’s). However because I am typically a half size I had to order the next whole size up. Due to this when adjusting the straps for a good fit I end up with a very long tail on the adjustable strap. I do wish these came in half sizes for a more precise fit.

Unfortunately the edges of the insole are digging into the bottom of my feet and making them sore.(Too narrow!)
