    OK, but not great anymore.

I'm joining the chorus of critics who have owned older Chacos and are disappointed with the degradation in newer models. The new straps are thin in cross-section and therefore hard and sharp, causing rubbing and raw patches, unlike the straps on older models. The marketing blurb about the new strap design is that they are "quicker drying", but that's absurd- there's hardly anything there to dry, and it's a hot-weather sandal! Nobody asked for this, particularly at the expense of comfort. The other silly claim is that "they just need breaking in", but there's no breaking in with nylon; it holds its form, by design. The newer straps are just a cheaper material that saves on manufacturing cost, with some marketing spin to make it sound "improved". It's a story that repeats with many quality products. Same with the construction and materials of the footbed, and even the buckle. From a distance, and viewing online, the new models look like the same old awesome sandals, but they are a more cheaply made copy. They're OK, but not great anymore. Sadly, my old Chacos had a few more years in them thanks to quality materials and construction, but I lost them.

We appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

Best wet/ dry sandals I have ever had.

Chaco sandals are the best! I had other sandals before Chaco. They were not as rugged, or as long lasting as Chaco. This time I opted for the extra wide straps. Very comfortable and sturdy. No other brand compares.

I wore my first pair of Chacos for 24 years and had them resoled once by Chaco. Now I have purchased my second pair. I like the wider straps compared to my 2001 model.

Basically the best on the market. Love the wide strap and easy adjustability. Good treads and dry quickly. A little heavy but I love them.

Comfortable, versatile sandal. This one looks great with a wide variety of slacks and shorts. This is my first wide strap. I have had about six or seven of the regular Chacos. I am a super fan.
