Damaged?

I clearly got a pair of these sandals that were not factory new and were returned previously by another person. Normally, that wouldn't be a big deal for me. It was in this instance, however, because the straps of these sandals were COMPLETELY screwed up. You can tell in the photos for these sandals that the ankle buckle strap is secured with glue or something to hold the loop. I could not figure out how the straps were supposed to go, and could not buckle them as a result. Unless they actually do come new looking like this. It's unacceptable either way and I will be returning.
