Too chunky

I have a pair of Vionics that I got last summer that have become my go-to NYC walking shoe. Perfect for work, weekends, and travel. I got this style in black, but the shoe itself was just way too chunky. The braided band just completely overtakes your foot. I typically get a size 5 Medium, but these felt huge in the regular medium width. I was swimming in them, and I have short & stout feet. I'm sure they were comfy but I ended up getting a different Vionic style that fit better and was less clunky.
