Melted in the dryer on low heat

We've had these socks for about a month, and my daughter has worn them regularly. She likes them because they're soft, comfortable, and fit well. However, one of the socks literally melted in the dryer today, turning into a hard, gooey mess. (Fortunately the goo does not seem to have ruined any of our other clothing.) We always dry our clothing on low heat -- so I would say these socks are not at all dryer safe. Due to the melting issue I cannot recommend them :( I'm bummed.
