Previously worn shoes

I ordered these shoes an over a week ago. I wanted to wear them for an event. Once I opened the box the bottom was scratched up. Obviously, they were previously worn. The tag was torn up on the bottom showing that someone had previously worn them. Not sure how this happened but I was able to get a full refund. But I did really want them, well the event will go on without the shoes. Date of shoes arrival was 8/12/26
