Unfortunately Uncomfortable

Unfortunately I had to return Norie Sandals. They look cute but are very uncomfortable on my feet. It's my usual size 7.5 but they are longer, like 8. All straps on the wrong places, and it's not possible to adjust them. The sole is very stiff and doesn't bend at all. Why it's so difficult nowadays to find comfortable walking sandals that are also look good!? 20-25 years ago there were a lot of great shoes everywhere! Where are all old masters-shoemakers who understood the meaning of shoes and how to make them?
