The clasp is not real and is actually Velcro. My daughter has very thin feet and ankles so I try to get real buckles but I am able to tighten these enough that they are not too loose. The sole seems well made and the gold finish seems durable. The foot body area is a little loose for my daughter but she has very thin feet.
