THE NEED FOR VENTED NON WATERPROOF HIKING SHOES

KEEN PLEASE MAKE THESE IN NON WATERPROOF FOR WARM WEATHER AND ANKLE SUPPORT!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] very comfortable right from the get go and actually pretty warm in 20 degree weather. I like the light weight and love the tread. Quality doesn't seem so good but time will tell. They seem a bit flimsy for a hiking shoe. Should have used a round lace it would make it easier to lace into top cleats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice comfortable shoe for walking but a little on the lite side. I expected a little more firm and sturdier construction similar to my last few pairs of Keen purchases. Reminds me of a wrestler's shoe back in high school. Time will tell as far as durability goes. Not disappointed so much. . time will tell.

Comfortable but not very robust. I had to return the first pair for the sole separating from the upper near the toe after about a week of wearing them. The second pair, the tread is separating from the sole after about 2 months. I have not been on any crazy terrain or hikes, just normal day to day and light trails. I’ve had to glue them twice. Again, very comfortable and light but not worth the price point on these boots. Would not recommend nor would I buy these again. Poor quality, not what I expect from Keen. I’ve had many Keen boots over the years, but the quality in these is lacking.

I've only had tehse for a week so far, so can't speak to their durabilty, but I've had decent luck with other Keen shoes, so I guess we'll see. I really do love everythign about these EXCEPT for the "speed hooks. " They quite literally make the simple act of tying your shoes take 2-3 times longer, not to mention incredibly frustrating. "Speed. . . " HA! These have got to be THE WORST speed hooks I've ever encoutered in my entire life. The problem is they are designed with the end of teh hook curved inwards which makes the gap for the lace to go into quite narrow. More often than not, the lace typically wants to go behind the entire hook instead if into it. I'm tempted to try to pry them apart just a bit to enlarge the gap, but I'm afraid they may break. Other than that one infuriating flaw, I'm liking them so far. Incredibly comfortable out of the box, but I expect that from Keens. We'll see how they hold up over time.

I really wanted to like these shoes. Theyre shoes, not boots btw. The back is cut so low theyre only 1/2" higher than my Altra trail runners letting water over the top when looking down it looks like youre ok. The water proof membrane is only 2. 5" tall! My other big problem was all the foam in the sole. All those grey ovals are soft foam, not rubber. I got a stick thru one THE FIRST HIKE! Like 20% of the sole is this foam! Unacceptable. The water proofing was iffy too. The right one got wet while the left beaded off. And lastly I found the toe box to be too small. I realize theyre not Altra's but the Columbia's I bought to replace these are much better. This was my first pair of Keen's and very possibly my last. I hope this review helps someone. Thanks for reading.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wore the men's bionic NXT 6-8 times just around every day walking, I haven't tried hiking yet, I have to get confidence the soles won't separate. I have tried 2 other keen hiking shoes/ boots and the soles separated on both in less than 6 months. Out of the 3 pair of keen I own 2 of them pairs were replaced by the warranty. Keen has the best warranty I ever came across. If their shoes were as great as their warranty they'd rule the shoe market. I'm not sure how a company that claims they're here for the environment makes a shoe that won't last 6 months, they end up in the landfill! Back to the bionic NXT, to me keen runs a half size smaller than shoes I normally wear but are very comfortable and stylish. I dont think id take them on a long hike like the Appalachian trail. They'd be comfortable but not sure the soles would hold up. . I'd give keen warranty easily 5 stars, but quite a bit less on their shoes. I read the reviews on what shoe had less sole separating problems and the men's bionic nxt fell in that category. I would recommend the person purchasing do the same. My unprofessional opinion is: put some glue on the soles, previous reviews show this has been going on for some time. Let's fix it and keep keen on our feet and out of landfills

. Between neuropathy and balance issues, I’ve had a hard time finding comfortable, supportive hiking/walking boots for my daily 3 miles trek with the family dog. These Keen Zionic NXTs are my new favorites. And they are lighter than I expected. I treated myself to a pair of Keen high arch inserts which add to the support and stability.
