Spartan Race & Hiking Scotland

I bought this version of these to replace the previous model (that are still holding up pretty good btw), to do my second Spartan Race and then brought them for a trip to Scotland, it's been a wild mid-life-crisis-year. For the race, I kind of wished they weren't waterproof, since they're a bit warm and then held the water in after they were submerged, but the treads were great on the obstacles. For Scotland, the waterproofing was perfect for the rain and the muddy trails. The treads were great out there too. They are a bit slick on wet hard floors, but that's not what they're built for. I think I might buy the open air version next. Thanks for making such great stuff.

A most comfortable hiking shoe

I was looking for a comfortable hiking shoe, with the emphasis on comfortable. Too many hiking shoes, it seems, have hard soles that tire the wearer out with sore feet at the end of the day. This pair of Keens is the best ever, as far as I’m concerned. They are comfortable, waterproof and have the feel of a well-constructed sneaker.

These shoes are much narrower and smaller toe box than the previous Zionic. I love my Zionic hiking boots but these shoes hurt my feet, especially in the toe box. I wish I had returned them, however I waited to long.
