I ordered the Ambassador pair in the Cashew shade because i love oiled leather texture. The color is a beautiful rich red brown and the little creases that form from the oiled leather gives it character. I ordered my usual DM size 7 (i wear 7.5 in regular shoes, preferring roomy toe boxes) and they fit like a dream. The leather softened as i wore them and there was plenty of room for my toes to move as i walked. I like the two buckles to adjust how much tension i want over my high instep. It looks cute and sharp with my office clothes and jeans. Already ordered the black pair in the Virginia leather so i cant wait to feel how that one compares. As for weight or clunkiness, theyre not as heavy as my other pairs of DM but only because these arent platforms. I dont feel weighed down by these in my walks to and from my office building. Also, i dont feel how bumpy the pavement is because of how thick the sole is, which is why i ordered new shoes in the first place. Im not scared of stepping over rocks or glads shards in these. I wore them for about 10 hours straight and my feet didnt feel like they were suffocating or bound, which is a benefit of the double strap mary jane style. I wear them with cute dress socks and i dont notice any sweating or odor.
ETA 5/14/26:
Okay so i got the black pair (virginia leather) and its a little bit stiffer than the Ambassador/cashew pair. The size is still good but i can tell this will need a full day before it gets comfortable.

They are a bit heavy but super comfortable. Way more comfortable than doc boots.
They are super pretty and feminine, the brown color is very nice.
While they are spacious in the toes, they do chafe a little bit in the back of the heel.

These are so versatile. You can wear them with anything. Love love love the color and the Doc style. I think the size is pretty accurate and my wide feet are comfortable enough to wear them all day.

This shoe is so clunky and NOT COMFORTABLE. It weighs a lot and would wear you out if you wore it all day. I actually returned mine.

These are super comfortable and very versatile. I bought them in both black and brown. I had a pair of brown ones from 1999 that just lost the elastic that holds the buckle down. I'd say that 27 years of regular use is pretty good.

Recently bought these and happy with them. They are slightly heavy but not as much as traditional docs. They are very comfy and stylish and move with your feet. They are not overly stiff.
