Before I purchased these I read the reviews which most were not good. I took a chance and bought them in black and tan. I loved them. Very comfortable and I got a lot of compliments on them. The slit people are talking about is not noticeable and it’s necessary for your foot to move. I actually had to search for the slit when I first opened the box. Glad I took a chance on these.

Best Wedge Sandal Ever - Ignore the "Slit" Reviews

Love the Donald J. Pliner Fiji Wedge Sandals. I have several pairs in black and one in tan. They are VERY comfortable and look great on; I hope he never quits making them! My feet tend to run on the skinny side (but not quite narrow) and they fit perfectly. They can be dressed up or down and I can stand in them for hours.
Addressing the people who are returning the shoe because they think the slit on the side is a damaged shoe, the band has a small slit to give it some give when you walk. It is there as a functional design element and when you wear them you don't see the slit. If it weren't there, the band would stretch out or rub your foot raw (neither of which has happened for me). My oldest pair is three years old and because I wear them all the time, the shoe does have some wear and tear, but it has held up incredibly well given the how much I wear them. They are worth every penny.

love these! i have several pairs. they don't pinch my chunky feet at all. these don't seem like they're made as well as they were a few years ago but i guess that's true for just about everything.

Not Worth The Money…

I purchased the taupe sandal 4 months ago and have worn 5-6 times, I love the look of the sandal and they are comfortable BUT this morning I noticed the strap is already pulling away from the sole…. These are expensive shoes to have this happen, especially since they have barely been worn.

Truly Stylish, Comfy Platforms

First, and perhaps most important--these sandals have reinforced slits, supported with elastic, on the insides of the leather, that are intentional. They provide a bit of "give" if your feet swell or you need more flex in your step. Those slits are NOT defects! Just another fab feature of these sandals that makes them superior to other platform slides. And, the platform is supportive, yet cushy. They are a true fit for my size 7M feet. Love!
