Summer
Before I purchased these I read the reviews which most were not good. I took a chance and bought them in black and tan. I loved them. Very comfortable and I got a lot of compliments on them. The slit people are talking about is not noticeable and it’s necessary for your foot to move. I actually had to search for the slit when I first opened the box. Glad I took a chance on these.

Best Wedge Sandal Ever - Ignore the "Slit" Reviews
Love the Donald J. Pliner Fiji Wedge Sandals. I have several pairs in black and one in tan. They are VERY comfortable and look great on; I hope he never quits making them! My feet tend to run on the skinny side (but not quite narrow) and they fit perfectly. They can be dressed up or down and I can stand in them for hours. Addressing the people who are returning the shoe because they think the slit on the side is a damaged shoe, the band has a small slit to give it some give when you walk. It is there as a functional design element and when you wear them you don't see the slit. If it weren't there, the band would stretch out or rub your foot raw (neither of which has happened for me). My oldest pair is three years old and because I wear them all the time, the shoe does have some wear and tear, but it has held up incredibly well given the how much I wear them. They are worth every penny.

love these! i have several pairs. they don't pinch my chunky feet at all. these don't seem like they're made as well as they were a few years ago but i guess that's true for just about everything.

Not Worth The Money…
I purchased the taupe sandal 4 months ago and have worn 5-6 times, I love the look of the sandal and they are comfortable BUT this morning I noticed the strap is already pulling away from the sole…. These are expensive shoes to have this happen, especially since they have barely been worn.

Truly Stylish, Comfy Platforms
First, and perhaps most important--these sandals have reinforced slits, supported with elastic, on the insides of the leather, that are intentional. They provide a bit of "give" if your feet swell or you need more flex in your step. Those slits are NOT defects! Just another fab feature of these sandals that makes them superior to other platform slides. And, the platform is supportive, yet cushy. They are a true fit for my size 7M feet. Love!

Great sandals designed with "slits" for comfort
I have two pair of the Donald Pliner Fiji sandals and am just ordering a third with the croc upper. They are super comfortable and hold up so well over time. Those reviewers who have complained about "slits" cut into the upper don't understand that the sandals are designed to have them. The slits are reinforced with stitching, proving they are intentional, and they allow for a little expansion if needed. Donald Pliner is a great brand and I love these shoes!

Worst Shoe Buying Experience Ever
If I could give 0 stars for the sandals and dsw customer service, I would. I have ordered a total of 4 pairs of the same sandals - 1st pair, correct sandal but with slits cut in the strap. Returned. 2nd pair ordered by dsw customer service rep because the gift card code (given to me to compensate for first bad experience) didn't work online so had to call customer service & they ordered the shoe - WRONG SANDAL. Returned. 3rd pair ordered thru customer service by Dsw supervisor - correct sandal but again with cut strap. Returned. Glutton for punishment that I must be, agreed to get a 4th pair ordered by a Dsw supervisor. They just arrived and it's the WRONG SANDAL again. What the heck? I give up. WORST SHOE BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER. Do better DSW - btw, the latest package arrived w/ a folded and smooshed top, too - not caused by UPS but how it left your warehouse. Improve your quality control and train your supervisors & employees better so they order the right shoes.

Slit Cut On Inner Strap
My 1st pair had a slit cut on the inside strap, I called customer service and returned that pair. They sent another pair and it has slits cut in the strap also… I can’t get an answer from anyone if they are supposed to be like this. Expensive sandal for this type of thing to happen.

Cute sandal but arrived damaged
I love these sandals - very cute & comfortable (and have purchased this style at other stores over the years) but only gave 1 star because mine also arrived with slits cut in the strap that goes across the front of the sandal. I immediately called customer service, they apologized and are sending another pair (and the rep told me he wrote instructions on the order to check for any cuts before sending). Not sure what happened but they never should have passed quality control and been shipped to a customer :(

Cute Sandals but…
I purchased the taupe “Fiji” sandal, I think they are really cute but mine came with slits cut in the strap that goes across the top of the foot (inner side of strap) and I can’t tell if they are made like this (if so it is an unfinished edge) or if someone returned them after cutting the slits in the strap so they were not as tight across the top of their foot… Anyone else have slits in the strap of their sandal?

Missing Shoes
