It is nice to have an actual leather loafer at an affordable price. This shoe is very comfortable with a roomy toe box. It's casual for jeans & dressy enough for work.

I purchased the 9 1/2 clarks ashland bubble loafer for work. Appreciate the simple clean look of the design elements. Entir4e shoe is lined with a soft (almost cushiony) fabric including the vamp...but not at the tip of toe. Footbed has a tiny bit of ARCH SUPPORT and small amout of cushioning in across footbed. Like theyre not flats. Wedge provides a small lift instead of a heel but initially feels somewhat like a zero-drop but isnt noticible whiole walking. CONSTRUCTION of the shoe looks perfect. The leather quality is OK. Obviously not the same quality of leather shoes we were buying 20 and 30 years ago. Shoes of that quality probably cost $200 or more!
SIZING: my right foot is longer than the left. Im actually between a size 9 and 9 1/2 so I purchased 9 1/2 and placed a thin leather insert which includes minimal arch support. Shoes dont slip off heel and I still have a tiny bit of room in the toe box if I wear thin trouser socks. However, since my R foot is longer the R shoe is obviously tighter at the toe. Once I begin actually wearing them on a daily basis Ill know if i need to ditch the R shoe insert.
Firm believer that "breaking in shoes" is a myth. If they cause discomfort out of the box, return them. Your feet are worth it. These shoes, for the quality is comfortable out of the box (after I added inset).
Overall, a decent shoe, feels comfortable
