Weird little strap on the inside

I was so excited about these shoes, I even got them in two different colors but their construction is so bad - there is a transparent plastic strap on the inside across the arch of the foot which is super tight and it digs into the skin, I received them today and I tried them on for 5 minutes and I just couldn't take the strap, it was so tight and horrible. I am so disappointed.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Comfortable shoes & a great color. The only negative is the mesh kind of buckles over the foot. May just be my feet but it won’t lie flat.
