Chaco Mega Z Classic Sandal

These sandals are awesome! I regret that I only bought one pair. I have a dog that needs lots of walks and enjoy hiking our state parks in the summer. These sandals are supportive, durable, and comfortable. I’m planning my next purchase now.

Super comfy right out of the box I love that I can wear them whenever I have to get my feet wet a little bit like walking the dogs on wet grass and not have to worry about it. They’re supportive and uncomfortable. I can wear them in a Creek I could wear them to walk my dogs.

Have always felt unstable without the toe loop, but the wide strap design changes that. These are now my favorite Chaco sandals.

This was my first pair of Chaco’s and although I loved the arch support and the fit, they were just too heavy and clunky for me. I need a more flexible and lightweight shoe. I have a little bit of sciatica and foot drop and this just felt like a shoe that I was gonna trip over the tower of. So I returned it.

They fit comfortably and securely, they’re easily adjustable and I love being able to wear them during water activities. I can walk on wet rocks without slipping and my feet don’t slide around in them. I don’t like sandals much but I love Chacos, I recommend them to anyone.

Love them & wear them every day. My only issue is the “buckle” is at the top of my foot and I can’t figure out how to adjust the straps to move it without changing the fit.

I have been purchasing Chaco z classic sandals since I first discovered them in 2003. I’ve owned 2 amazing pair previous to my most recent purchase and have can say about that generation— they were made well and with great quality lasting about a decade with consistent wear each. I used them to travel long distances often in the boreal forests of the BWCA & Northern Minnesota & hiking the western states. I wish I could say the same for the most recent generation— purchased 5/2026. Breaking them in was never an issue before— the straps this time were sharp against my skin, they felt like plastic! At the end of my walk my feet were sawed open and bleeding! Come to realize the straps are made with recycled plastic materials?!?!?! On our feet? I’m all for sustainability— but who thought it a brilliant idea to go this route? That said— they are also sized different than previous generations. I’m sad to say this may be my last pair of Chacos.
