Great if you have a long, narrow foot
I've so far been served well by Anthony Veer shoes. They're excellent quality for the price (my local cobbler, a man in his 70s with many years of experience in the craft, said they're just as good as what costs $100 more in the menswear shop downtown) with good, if not top notch, leather and surprisingly solid Goodyear welt construction. On sale they're an astronomical value. These suede loafers are no different. ....if you can actually fit them. These miss the mark for me for one reason: the last shape. A last is the form a shoe is built around and determines characteristics of fit and look. For some reason Veer tends to prefer a slim, stylish last, but this is just too much. I feel like these shoes are meant for men with feet like popsicles. Long, flat and NARROW. These are too tight around the sides to be a true medium width, especially for a 13. This is a consistent problem with Veer around this size range, as I fit their boots better in a 12, but always need to have them widened. For some reason the 13s (usually) are more roomy all around, but made for guys with huge Franken-feet. Advice to AV--I love your shoes and your value per dollar is great, but you NEED to get your last sizing more consistent.
