Damaged And Worn

I received these boots in the mail today and was looking forward to wearing them. As soon as I opened the box and started to pull the first boot out, I could tell that these boots were heavily damaged with deep scraps and cuts into the soft leather. It looked as if someone beat these boots up with something sharp or dug their finger nails into them on purpose. Or could see them possibly being a sample in a store that got beat up. Also for someone reason one of the boots had already been worn so much so that the leather was creased, fully broken and cracking by the toe cap area. The other boot didn’t look worn but also had bad scratches all over them. This is the second Anthony Veer boots I ordered from DSW recently and had to return the other pair as well which were the non cap toe ones because they were made defective and passed lax quality control. When I laced up one of the boots there was about 4 inches of space behind my ankle no matter how tight I laced the boot. The other one fit normal. DSW needs to do better than sending damaged, worn, floor sample, or defective merchandise. Very disappointing and don’t recommend ordering nice boots online from DSW. Period!

Step Up to a Bona Fide Premium Boot

These boots are hand made in India, which is likely not the first country you think of when considering premium boots. Nonetheless, the workmanship is first rate. The boots are Goodyear welted, which maximizes strength, minimizes water penetration, and facilitates recrafting. The interior is leather lined and the footbed is leather over comfortable PORON foam. The upper is full grain, pull-up cowhide leather. Without going through the mumbo jumbo, boots with pull-up leather exhibit individual character out of the box and develop more character as you wear them (i.e., tonal variance and a vintage look). Throw in the speed hooks and rugged commando sole and you have a cool boot that that is perfect for casual wear. DSW’s description says, “round toe”, but “almond” (a slightly elongated, narrower version of the round toe) is more accurate. Regardless, they look and feel good on my feet. These boots run large. Order a half size down and try them out for a day or two around the house. Anthony Veer throws in shoe bags, extra laces, and extra insoles, which can be used to fine tune the size. AV’s Ranveer would not be my first choice at its full MSRP; but it's not hard to find on sale. If you wait for one of DSW’s specials and redeem some VIP perks, you’ll get a full grain, Goodyear welted boot for only a few dollars more than one crafted from “genuine” (i.e., split) leather and glue. There are, of course, premium boots that offer more (e.g., higher tier leathers, gusseted tongues, cork midsoles, denser stitch counts, etc.) but you won’t find them at this price. I’m giving the Ranveer 5 stars based on the value I received for the money I spent.

These are really beautiful looking shoes, very classy!
I bought them as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend so I’m not sure if he will like them or not but they look really nice!

Handsome and great quality

My PICKY spouse loves these boots. He insisted on a boot with a Goodyear welt; with this type of construction, you can have them re-soled by a qualified cobbler. They arrived well-presented in a sturdy storage box, cloth sacks for each boot, and extra laces and insoles. They look great - the leather and its finish is beautiful - and my spouse has not one complaint!
