Shoes tore and are unusable after only 5 runs!

I’ve had a couple of pairs and the last pair tore after only a few runs on the treadmill. I’m usually a big fan of Adidas running shoes but the quality of the upper part of the shoe has really dropped off a cliff. Maybe just a defective pair? I’m going to reach out to customer service to see if they will make this right for me as a very loyal customer
