Wide sandals have shrunk

I bought a new pair of size 9 wide Bella Toe post sandals, and the width (and length) is much narrower than my old pair. Pictures for comparison. It doesn’t even look like the same shoe size from the bottom. Both the toe area and heel are narrower. Even the space around the Vionic logo on the bottom is narrower. What happened to the wide width?
No, I do not recommend this product.

I got these shoes as a gift - and I love them - it’s my first pair of this brand - the bed is very nice and comfortable. It is dressy enough to wear with dresses or a maxi skirt and casual enough to wear with shorts .
I really like the is brand and is a great deal if you find them on clearance !
