COMFORT AND FIT!!! THese boots are better than I anticipated.

I bought these relatively expensive boots (on-line) to replace my old worn-out Levi's boots. I took my time over several days, looking at various boots on the site before I settled on these. The (2) reviews were glowing so I thought maybe I would love them also, though I had not heard of this brand. I usually have BAD LUCK when I order from DSW, and sadly, this is the last ONLINE purchase I ever make with them. Something is ALWAYS wrong... shoes are wrong size, damaged, not as described, I get one shoe in 2 different sizes... on and on the list goes. These arrived just in their manufacturer's box. No outer box or waterproof packaging. To make matters worse, the box was left OUTSIDE in the elements, not inside a locker, in the inner or outer lobby (where it should have been delivered to). Guess that is more FedEx's fault than DSW's. However, after getting the boots and bringing them in and opening them up, my eyes went RIGHT to this huge cut or "gap", down near where the leather meets the sole, on EACH shoe, on the inside facing side. Each one in a slightly different spot on each shoe. I have NEVER had a pair of boots with a gap like this and I had to double check the photos on the listing to make sure I had not overlooked this when I bought these, but NOPE... there is not even a hint of a gap on either shoe. That, plus the sheer size of the gaps AND the fact that they are not even "even" on each shoe led me to believe they were defects! Then of course, I was shocked that this huge error would go unnoticed by the folks putting my order together. It is embarrassing that they sent these shoes to me like this.... was I really NOT going to NOTICE this HUGE FLAW? Course, as I said before, they once sent me a "pair" of shoes... in 2 VERY DIFFERENT (not even close matches when side-by-side), I guess I should not be too surprised. Shame on me for not learning my lesson and NOT attempting another online order from DSW. Lesson learned this time. Tired of having to deal with returning stuff to DSW... especially because of screwups and issues with my orders like this! Sadly, I never even tried the shoes on. In fact, I never even removed the "stuffing" from each shoe... what is the point, right? Did not matter if they fit at that point, with those HUGE GAPS, there was no way I was keeping those hideous shoes! They sure looked narrow though too, but that is just from looking at them, and not trying them on. I can say the quality of the leather was beautiful and they smelled great when I opened the box. That is the only nice thing I have to say about these shoes... AVOID these boots. Spend all that money on something else, somewhere else!
