Not as comfy as I had hoped

I know people rave about these sandals, but I was a little disappointed. I've only worn them once so far, and I found them very stiff. I assume they will soften with time, but for the first use, it was not as comfy as I would have liked. I like the sole, but the ribbon fabric that covers your foot is stiff.
