Bought these "extra wide", which for men's shoes should be minimum "3E" and/or "4E". Instead, "Extra wide" for these shoes was "2E", way too slender for 4E+ feet. I left an extra star in the rating because I really like the look, and don't feel the shoe itself was bad. Rather the website having incorrect sizing guaranteed they would need to be returned.

At first glance the shoes looks awfully narrow, but slips right on for a very comfortable fit. I had to return the first order because the shoes run about a size too large (exactly one size, for me). This is a very high quality product, and it seems they use the finest of materials. I see why my father always wore them.

I bought 2 pairs of these. First was a brown pair which I returned as the color was not as pictured. I exchanged them for black and I love them. Takes a bit to break them in but what a classy boot! I’ll have these for years to come.

I have read ratings from customers that evidently bought these shoes not knowing what they were buying. These are not work boots in the since of working in a manufacturing environment. They are dress boots that look better and as they get older. My grandfather, and father wore these same styled boots, and I delight in wearing them. They have a dated classic look that I love and the comfort is amazing. When we were kids, we called them "old folk's comforts" They certainly live up to the name. In moving into a new home, the original pair was lost. I bought another pair. Then I found the pair that I thought was lost. Now I enjoy having two pair!! :)

I purchased these as a Christmas gift, when I opened them the shoes looked very cheap and the leather was super shiny and thin. The soles were as slick as glass. No way you could ever wear these shoes as a winter dress boot. These shoes were slick on my hardwood floors, so I couldn’t imagine how they would be in a skiff if snow or on tile floors where my husband works. I purchased both black and brown boots) I am highly disappointed and will be returning ASAP.

Boots arrived today. Taking them out of the box took me back to my childhood. To the impoverished days when all the family could afford were low quality plastic shoes from China. Payless would haves been a luxury bank then. Simply awful. Terrible materials, horrific paint like finish, terrible craftsmanship. Would make a great prank.
