I have 2 pairs of Minnetonka moccasins in size 9, so I thought it would be a safe bet to purchase a pair of the sheepskin lined moose slippers in that same size. Unfortunately, my foot had too much toe space in the moccasin, that my heel fell out every time i tried to walk. So i exchanged them for a pair in size 8. My toes just reached the end, so that was a bit uncomfortable. I do not believe that these are “true to size.” So many of these reviews are written by those who don’t wear the slippers themselves, that I question many of the reviews and ratings. As another point, the sheepskin “fur” becomes quite compact after wearing a few times, further loosening the fit and reducing the warmth that was covering the foot. Overall, quite a disappointment.

Dont Believe All Online Reviews!

I purchased these based on reviews. Let me start by saying that they are NOT true to size. My size 9 wide feet swim in the size 9 shoe. What none of the reviews state is that this is NO LONGER the hand-stitched shoe from Minnesota many of us grew up with. It is made in the Dominican Republic from arctic moose (ok) with lambswool from China. I wonder if this is lambswool or yak because it is so scratchy and immediately clumps.
I want to buy American. I thought Minnetonka would never give in to the pressure. I was wrong. These slippers are going back TODAY.

I bought these for my husband, who is pretty picky about slippers. In the past he bought from other merchants and was not happy with the fit or durability of slippers he purchased. He REALLY likes these, says they are very comfortable and well-made.

Warm & Groovy Classic Moosehide Slippers

Purchased these for my son for his birthday who lives in the Teton Valley. (Lots of daily moose sitings!) Beyond the warmth and comfort, they are pretty groovy to slip on when it's so cold and/or after a day of wearing snowboard boots. He loves them! I originally selected a size 10 but they were a little too tight (forgot he regularly wears a 10.5). Exchanged for a size 11 and they're perfect. The dark brown is really nice. Very well made and exceptional quality, as my experience has been with all Minnetonka products.
