The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is the heel of the sole extends behind the back of the shoe tripping me when I'm going downhill.

My daughter wears Merrell boots and bought me a pair for Christmas. These are the nicest boots I have ever had! I wear a size 8.5 so she bought me a 9 and the fit is perfect. There is no breaking in period; put them on and go. We had a lot of snow so far this year but my feet have stayed warm, dry, and comfortable. If you’re looking for a wonderful boot, buy a pair of these.

Perfect fit if you size up a whole size. If you don’t size up, minimally thin socks will be required.

When my beloved Kiana's soles came unglued after a decade of use including the coldest and snowiest winters on record, I dug out the specs and went hunting for an equivalent pair. As it has been a very snowy winter I have had time to break them in and am quite happy. They are everything the Kiana's were, plus an easy in/out zipper and considerably lighter while remaining stable and toasty warm. Excellent traction and work well with my snowshoes, too. My only regret is that I didn't size up half a size as they are a smidge more snug than the Kianas were and I would prefer to use chunkier socks, but that isn't a deal breaker.

Love these so much. I wanted to get another pair in black but they are not available....my loss. So comfortable with all the support needed.

Boots were too narrow for me. Would love some boots in wider widths.

I love these winter boots. I have worn them for multiple hours at a time and they were warm and comfortable. I find that Merrill’s run a little narrow, so keep that in mind if your foot is wide. Also, these run small and I had to get a full-size larger than my usual size 6.
