Perfect hiking boots, good for work.

These are currently my most comfortable pair of shoes. I have taken them hiking and backpacking and used them on concrete for long hours. They are great for everything

Long time Moab user unhappy with recent changes
10 days ago
I’ve been buying Moab boots (V2s and now V3s) for years. I walk a lot in urban and trail environments and usually wear the soles down to flat in the contact patches every 6-8 months. I need ankle support and shoes that can go from sidewalks to trails in all kinds of weather, and the Moab’s have absolutely delivered.
My most recent set has been a bit of a disappointment, though. It seems clear that there have been some changes to construction. Most notable is that the top lace hooks are not regular open hooks anymore. They’re now partially closed with a slot to allow the lace in and out of the hook. I’m sure this has some advantages to help keep the hooks from snagging on things (though I’ve never had an issue with that). For me, though, they make it harder to get in and out of the boots, as it takes a little finagling to get the laces to set into the hooks. I have a high instep, and the ability to get in and out of these easily was a huge benefit. Now it’s extra work both donning and doffing.
I was also surprised to find the provided insoles are now pretty worthless thin foam with no structure. The old insoles had some support to them and good structure. I would always use the stock insoles until they flattened out, then swap in a set of third party insoles until the outsoles wore out the rest of the way. These new orange paper thin things were immediately replaced as they provided no support whatsoever.
I am not looking forward to the death of this pair next year . It took a while to find a mid-rise shoe that provided the support and comfort I needed to support my walking habit, and I don’t relish doing that search again.

Moab 3 is a great shie

The water proof Moab 3 hiking boots are very comfortable and durable. I had tried a version that wasn’t water proof, and unfortunately the sole separated. The Moab 3 does not have that problem. Very tough shoes if they last through the abuse I dish out.

These are extremely comfortable shoes. I was pleasantly surprised from the first time I slipped my foot into them. If I wear another shoe for a day and then slip these on the difference is noticeable immediately. Highly recommend you give them a try.

Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Wide Width

The Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Wide Width boots are outstanding. They were incredibly comfortable right out of the box with virtually no break-in period. The wide-width fit is excellent, providing plenty of room without feeling loose, and they offer great support for all-day wear.
The cushioning is exceptional, making long hikes and extended time on your feet comfortable and fatigue-free. The waterproofing performs exactly as advertised, keeping my feet dry in wet conditions while still allowing them to breathe.
If you're looking for a durable, supportive, and comfortable hiking boot that fits well from day one, I highly recommend the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Wide Width. They have exceeded my expectations and are easily one of the most comfortable pairs of hiking boots I've ever owned.
