Nice casual shoe
I've been wearing Austins for over 10 years now and this one is just a bit better than the rest. What I like about it is the wide toe box and smooth leather finish that makes it a nice alternative between sneaker/hiker types and full on dress shoes. Also, I prefer the smooth leather to the previous Nubuck as it can be cleaned and even shined more easily. The leather is a little stiff in the tongue and I don't care for the flat laces which are just a little too short but I expect the leather to soften with use.

New favorite shoe
I bought a pair of Austins about two years ago, when my previous pair of Keen’s got to old and grungy to wear to church (I still wear them for working outdoors, though).
I love these shoes. They’re well made, comfortable, sturdy enough to wear on hikes, and look great whether you’re wearing casual or “nice” clothes.
I came to the Keen website today to buy another pair and thought I would leave a review while I was here.

A Company Not Honoring their Warranty
My first pair of Keen Austins have been so comfortable, that I ordred a second pair to add to my growing collection of Keen shoes. The new pair had one shoe whose tongue keep moving over to one side, causing the front of the shoe to ripple and pressure my foot (see photo). I thoughjt that this would correct itself as the leather broke in, only to discover that it kept getting more painful. When I finally had enough, I saw that I missed the return date by a day or two.
I submitted a warranty claim, and was told that Keen would follow up with their manufacturing people, but since comfort is not guananteed, my claim was denied. This clearly seems like another case of people judging themselves to be faultless, and in this case, also uncaring and not honoring their warranty.

Stitching Came Undone
I bought a pair of the Men's Austin Shoes. After awhile the stitching started coming apart above the toe. I'm 70 years old, and retired, so they weren't used for work, just everyday wear. I started buying Keen work shoes before retirement, and always liked them. But after this, I'm done.

Great shoes

Required some breaking in, but now very comfortable and sturdy, without feeling like a clunky hiking boot. A great everyday shoe.

The wide is the former width of these shoes

I just got my yearly pair of these shoes, I thought I get the wide and see the difference. Well Well the new size Wide is the exact width as the shoes purchased last year. The inner sole is exactly the same size

Rainy day shoes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got these for Seattle winter walks. Feel comfortable but I can tell it will take awhile to "soften". Kinda clunky out of the box not like my Keen Hightrail shoes. Looking forward to breaking them in.
