The seam on the side of the elastic rubs my legs creating a painful abrasion when wearing short socks. You have to wear socks that are at least boot height to prevent this. I have the other short boots and they don’t have the elastic cutout and are very comfortable.

These are the cutest boots! I'm a true seven and purchased the size 7. They fit slightly large (enough room to add thick socks) but not enough to size down imo. The ankles are not uncomfortable like some of my other Hunter boots. I'm happy I purchased these and expect to get a lot of use out of them this spring and summer.
