Sizing is off

I want to love these because they are so cute and my son was so excited, but the sizing is off. All of his shoes are a size 5 and are generally a little big. These size 5 were so tight he began pulling them off and we saw it was leaving a red mark.

These are not like the canvas one so they run true to size a d a little bit small, so I had to keep changing them on my daughter so she got to use them before they were too small for her!
