Too wide, even with “adjustable” strap

I have narrow feet, & according to the DSW app, they only sell this sandal in a med width. No one wants to make or sell narrow shoes, so I have to size down when buying sandals, which I did. I chose these sandals because I saw reviews stating that these ran narrow, but I can’t even keep them on w/my toes clutching the insole & the strap as tight as it will go (which doesn’t go past the 2nd notch, even though there are @least 3, because the strap widens just below the buckle).
That being said, I’m wondering if it got knock-offs. Idk if this is a DSW thing (1st time DSW shopper) or a recent Clarks change, but the box is not the normal shoebox that has come w/past Clarks purchases. It’s a very flimsy, no logo, oversized box w/a generic, plain-text sticker on it.
Not happy that I have to pay $9 to return, as the nearest DSW is now over 50 miles away, nor am I eager to shop here again.

I liked these shoes so much that I bought 2 pairs, one in black and one in blue. They look nice and they are not uncomfortable. They look and feel high quality and that they’ll last awhile.
