Does not fit true to size

Bought a pair of these and they are just slightly too big. Their size 10 M runs bigger than typical size 10...does NOT appear to fit true to size. If I want to wear these w/a proper fit, I will need to put on really thick socks.

They're too big. I haven't been able to wear them. I have another model of Carhartt boots which I love. I got exactly the same size, but these chukka are bigger. I wonder if they are in fact one size bigger, but marked wrong on them. I can't find them in any store to go try different sizes to check this. Anyways, they're still sitting in their box.
