Beware of width

Nice boots, comfortable, BUT, if you are not familiar with Birkenstock - which i am not - the width could be an issue. The item here said Medium width. Birkenstock sizes their widths as Narrow and Regular. Narrow is a US Medium width, Regular is a US Wide width. So these boots, though the page says Medium, is actually Wide. Confused? Me too. I had to return them because they were too wide. They are also very stiff and would take awhile to break in. Very nice footbed, though. I like support for my arched feet and the support seemed great. I wear a 9 Medium and these look huge on me. But I was also trying the wrong width.

Best boot of its kind!

I bought these recently and love everything about them! They're as comfortable as the rest of my Birks, the ankle stretches enough to get them on easily, and they don't rub my ankles/shins when I wear them with ankle socks and wide leg jeans. Wore them all around Milwaukee for a long weekend without breaking them in, and I didn't have blisters or sore feet! I was hesitant to buy based on other reviews I'd seen, but I have no regrets!

So close but bad design. Upper too tight.

I wanted to love these boots, but the ankle and the upper were just so incredibly tight! The toebox was really wide and comfy, like normal Birkenstocks, but the rest of the shoe felt like it was several sizes too small, even though my heel and toes fit really well and the sole is so comfy. Just a miss in my opinion on Birkenstock's part. These were so close to being an amazing shoe.
