BCBGeneration Glastin Pump

To set the stage here, I bought this particular pair online, sight unseen. The color was just so beautiful I didn’t really care. I read a few reviews as I always do, one of which said to go up half a size from your regular fit as the toe box is a little cramped and well…. I just received them today and I have to say I believe that was extremely poor advice. They are HUGE! I’m normally a 9.5 so I went up to a 10, I couldn’t even walk in them the strap on the back of the heel was so loose it kept slipping off and tripping me. The toe box felt comfortable enough that even going down to my regular 9.5, or potentially even 9, it would still be plenty roomy! So do with that information what you will. They are beautiful in person from afar, the color is very eye catching, the gold horsebit detail on the front is shiny and elevates the shoe, but honestly? If you look too close it starts to fall flat. The strap on the back is quite flimsy and the elastic holding the strap together looks cheaply made. I was under the impression that these shoes would have an adjustable strap at least but no, it is a one-size-fits-all type deal either it works or it doesn’t. There is an elastic portion of the heel strap that, in theory, stretches to fit the back of your heel to keep the shoe in place but I just found it to be extremely flimsy. Even if you did get a perfect fit, the elastic piece would stretch out over time and the shoe could potentially fail to fit properly in a few months. I have attached a photo of the piece I’m referencing. Do I think these shoes are worth the price? Not really. I’m going to be returning them and finding something else. I think the only redeemable quality of the shoe is the color and the horsebit accessory which can be found in many different styles of shoe. As far as the shoe itself, the fit is odd and uncomfortable, visibly cheaply made as well. I could see these hurting pretty badly after wearing them for a couple of hours. Save your money and find something else.

Beautiful styling and looks much more expensive than it was, thanks to the horsebit styling. The heel is a very comfortable height. I’ve only tried on to wear around the house as I may need to go up 1/2 a size to not have pinched toes. I would say that if you’re between sized to go up.
