Fit isn't good

I typically wear an 8 and 1/2/9 so I got a nine because I don't wear super heavy socks with my boots. I have very narrow feet and I'm going to tell you that these boots hurt. I could not get them on with socks and even barefooted they were way too small. I'm not sure I want to go up a size bigger so these are just going to get returned. I'm hugely disappointed

I have been looking for something like this. I wear a 7, sized up to 8 for thicker socks works great. Covers the ankle and is very comfortable. Getting on clearance is even better.
