Sam Edelman Loraine Loafer

I had heard a lot about these shoes from friends and family about how the leather is so soft that you need not break it in very well made and to my expectation it all is actually true. It is true to size very well made and comfortable classic shoe.

I have always loved the Loraine loafer and have bought them in bulk. I am so disappointed to report that the latest pair I bought in the color Saddle Leather are NO LONGER made of all leather. The materials used to all say "leather", now it says the "sock" and "balance" are "man made." This makes the shoe completely different -- I had huge blisters after the first day and even after three wears, they still aren't comfortable. These used to feel like butter and now they feel like plastic. I am SO disappointed.

I’m looking for a pair of comfortable shoes for business casual outfits. Had really high hopes. I got my normal size 6.5. Looked nice, length was good, but the instep of the shoes was too stiff and almost too tight. I tried to walk around the house in them and it was constantly pressing against my feet. I wish the leather would have been softer. Had to return.

This is my second pair of the Loraine bit loafer. I'm not normally a flat-shoe person. Have a hard time finding flats that feel good. The Loraine is a good one. They are comfortable on the first wear, and break in quickly to become even better. The style is polished and classic, but still casual. I like them with wide leg slack ala Bette Davis or Katherine Hepburn, or with straight leg jeans. I'm glad they make them in many colors. I have white and the saddle tan. For ref, I am an 8.5 Medium and find them tts.
