"Though there have been complaints about the thin material, I love a thin (high) boot, as they are infinitely more comfortable in my opinion. After trying on a pair of "thinner" high boots in Europe recently, and discovering how comfortable they were in comparison with heavier leathers--even leathers that are "broken in", I decided to find a pair here. (Granted they wear even high boots in the dead of July, so this was likely a factor in their material choice, but still a welcome find, not to mention how easily they can fold and pack in a suitcase.) Also, I think that snug fitting boots look so much better than a sloppy gap around the calves. These are nice because I can pull the laces tighter and make them fit my narrow calves. However, while the laces give a nice chic look, the toe seems to ruin the boot somewhat. You know how the placement of pockets on a pair of jeans can change the way you look in them? I have found the same to be true with the placement of seams on a shoe/boot. Seam and overlay placements can alter the appearance, making them look sleek vs. chunky, or wide vs.narrow in the ankles...The seam placement and the rounded overlay on the toe of this boot ruin the "line" of the boots. The toe reminds me of a retro "maryjane" shoe, leaving it just a touch on the frumpy side. The idea of this boot has such potential but falls short. I'm not positive if I'll keep them or not."

Finally! Tall boots for skinny calves!
"I have size 10 bony feet with bunions and a 12" calf circumference. Looking for sleek low-heeled boots that fit both parts has been so hard! A little bagggy can be cute, but slightly bowed legs in really wide boots just looks wrong. Saw these on a tall skinny woman and they looked great.. I got a size 10.The lacing in the back is way sleeker than the combat look in the front would be and the low heel balances the "corset" look. The leather is soft and not too shiny. The fit is wide enough for my bigger gnarlier foot but not too sloppy on my smaller foot and the heels are not too loose. I can wear a thin Smartwool sock in them right now. If i wanted to wear a heavy sock, I'm pretty sure the soft leather would stretch, but if it's that cold, I'll be in furry winter boots. The style is relaxed but my feet don't look huge. The laces let me fit my skinny calves without gapping and add a little dimension to them. And then I can just use the zipper for easy on/off. Yay!!The only thing I don't like (and previously found with Two Lips ankle boots) is that the heels "clack" when walking on hard surfaces. The boots are lightweight and it seems the heels are hollow. The sole has a rubbery piece with little ridges, but the heels have a harder material. So I just dropped them off at the cobbler and he will fill the heels and replace their bottoms with Vibram for about $25. Then I'll waterproof-spray them and I'll have just what I was looking for and still at a great price! I'm looking forward to wearing them with skinny pants and dresses and skirts. Thank you, DSW!"

"I was so excited to get these boots.. shopped around for about a month before picking this pair. I bought a half size smaller according to the reviews I read and that ended up working perfectly for me. I am usually a size 7, plus my feet are narrow, so the half size down fits just right. My main beef with the boots was their appearance and quality. When I opened the box I was really disappointed. There were permanent looking creases all over the ankle and up the sides of the boots. It looks like they were stored in a 6 inch cube for over a year before I got them. The "leather" feels paper thin and actually looks like it'll rip within a few weeks of normal day wear. I even had a few different friends look and feel before putting up my review. All agree that the leather feels soft, but looks cheap and does feel like it'll rip any day. I'm so bummed...I couldn't wait to get them. And hopefully my rewards are returned when I send these back. Otherwise I'll be buying boots elsewhere since I used $20 of rewards on these."
