Really Good Boot!
"I've been needing a pair of hiking boots, wanted something of quality and didn't want to spend a fortune. I did my homework by reading personal and more professional reviews. This boot was ranked a "Best Buy" for the aforementioned reasons. I always have concerns with items fitting properly, when ordering online. Typically, I wear a size D, but wear C, as well. Initially, I found this boot to be slightly loose fitting, as it is. I replaced the insole, as I do with ALL of my shoes, slipped on a pair of wool hiking socks and Voila! - a perfect fitting boot. I decided to wear them out for a day before trekking into the wild to see how they would perform. I went to a day long auction (it doesn't get much more wild than that), standing 98% of the time and surprisingly, I was not the least bit fatigued that evening. No back pain, no leg pain, no swelling of the joints. Impressive for the first wearing because I was genuinely expecting to feel it in my knees. Oh, sure, the toes were a little crunchy and it certainly felt good to remove the boots, but no different than removing my stiff leather, leather soled wingtips at the end of my day. While I cannot attest to the long term quality of these boots, I think I can comfortably state they will probably serve my needs well. They seem to be strong, well made and most definitely light weight, which was a must for me. So, if you're an average caveman, like myself, looking for a decent product at a decent price, you'll probably be just fine with this pair of boots. The review tips say not to "focus" on price, but I think this really needs to be said. I found this same pair of boots at a competitor's retail store for the exact same price as DSW's posted price, however and a very BIG however, I was able to save a substantial amount of money by purchasing these while on sale from DSW. I'm an extremely value oriented individual, it's got to be good and at a good price. Bam!"
